Autumn, looking up
The day began beneath a bright, generous sky. Sometimes a city gives you an old facade, a patch of sun, and the feeling that there is nowhere else to be for a while.
Wuxi · Field note
Lake wind, old stone, and soft clay: a day that asked for no hurry.

The day began beneath a bright, generous sky. Sometimes a city gives you an old facade, a patch of sun, and the feeling that there is nowhere else to be for a while.

At Liyuan Garden, willow branches leaned toward Lihu Lake while the wind gathered light into small waves. Later, Huishan Ancient Town unfolded in grey brick, dark tiles, and quiet ancestral halls. Wuxi did not feel like a list of sights. It felt like a place still holding its stories close.

In a clay-sculpture museum, I made this little horse. The clay was soft, warm, and faintly smelled of earth. It became ears, legs, a rider, and its own crooked personality—proof that an afternoon can be held in the hands.
